Elizabeth Thompson, Canada, is an award-winning reporter in the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s Parliamentary Bureau in Ottawa, where she specializes in investigative reporting and data journalism.
In 2023, she worked on ICIJ’s Deforestation Inc investigation, shedding new light on Paper Excellence, a secretive company that now dominates Canada’s pulp and paper industry.
Prior to joining CBC, she worked for many years for the Montreal Gazette and briefly for Sun Media. She later helped launch iPolitics – one of Canada’s first web-based news organizations.
