Lamin Jahateh, The Gambia, is a Gambian freelance journalist with more than 10 years of professional experience in journalism and media advocacy.
He is a stringer for the Reuters news agency, and a member of the West African network of investigative journalists, known by its French acronym CENOZO.
He currently works for the Gambia Press Union, the umbrella body of journalists in The Gambia, as the program manager. He leads the union’s advocacy and capacity-building efforts on various journalism beats, including investigative journalism.
Before joining the press union, Jahateh was an editor with The Point, a renowned independent newspaper, and teaching assistant at the Media Academy for Journalism and Communication, his alma mater.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and digital media from the University of The Gambia and an advanced diploma from the Media Academy for Journalism and Communication. Jahateh did his undergraduate research on investigative journalism in The Gambia.
