Lyas Hallas, Algeria, is an investigative journalist. He began his career in journalism in 2006 as a reporter at the French language daily Le Soir d'Algérie, writing on politics, culture, sports and more before specializing in economics.
In 2014, he shifted to online media, reporting for business outlet Maghreb Emergent and the general news outlet Al Huffington Post Algérie. Hallas moved back to print at the daily Liberté, before ultimately returning to Le Soir d’Algérie. He graduated in information and communication sciences from the University of Constantine in 2003, and from the National School of Information Science and Journalism of Algiers in 2013. He is the author of several prominent investigations.
Hallas also contributes to international publications Le Monde, Mediapart (France) and Le Desk (Morocco).
