Douglas Dalby, Ireland was a senior investigative reporter with ICIJ from 2019 to 2020.
Previously, Dalby reported for The New York Times and Agence France Presse.
He is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, Il, USA. This followed the completion of an honors degree in Economic and Social Studies at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
The veteran journalist has worked at various prestigious print and online titles, including The Irish Times, The Sunday Times (Ireland) and as a senior editor at The Australian newspaper, based in Sydney. He has also contributed to numerous international media and was a prize-winning lecturer in journalism at Dublin City University.
Although specializing in business reportage for most of his career, Dalby's career has been multi-faceted, covering everything from sport to the conflict in Northern Ireland.
He has a keen interest in soccer, cycling, genealogical research and in history, particularly the Spanish Civil War.
One of his former editors nicknamed him 'Chainsaw': sometimes difficult to start but very effective once he gets going.
