Dr Olayinka Oyegbile, Nigeria, is an award-winning journalist, playwright, and short story writer. He has worked in both electronic and print media.
He is widely travelled and has won many awards both at home and abroad. He is a Fellow of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Public Health Reporting. He is also a Fellow of the American Cancer Society (ACS) and other prestigious institutions in Germany, India, etc.
Oyegbile has worked with The Guardian, The Punch, Daily Independent, TELL magazine and NEXT newspapers and was until recently deputy editor of The Nation on Sunday. His play, “The Dirty Leap”, which was published in 2021 to critical acclaim in the Nigerian media, was shortlisted for the prestigious Association of Nigerian Authors prize (drama category) in 2022.
His short story “The Hospital Bird” was published in a collection titled “Voices That Sing Behind The Veil - Anthology of Short Stories from Africa and the Diaspora” edited by Ivor Agyeman-Duah.
In 2012, he wrote the book “Home Away From Home”.
